A couple of years ago, I connected with Lourdes to do a full-body painting piece of art.  She had this great idea about a piece to showcase what was happening in Australia.  She’s not only an artist but, an activist that uses her art to inspire and highlight issues of the world. We went to her studio and right from the first moment she made me feel very comfortable by explaining the process and the details on how we were going to work. This was a full body piece, so it was extremely important to connect with each other as the work was going to take a few hours, where she painted all over my body. Her kindness and professionalism made the process an amazing enjoyable experience. We talked, changed positions many times, and even planned for future pieces of art. Feeling at home, while an artist creates a beautiful piece on your body, it’s an experience that stays with you and creates a special link between the two of you. When she finished, we did the photographs. Then movement and expression created a whole new experience! It was the time to enjoy hours of work and be creative together. We shared a magical moment while documenting the process and the end result. I can’t wait to serve as her canvas for her next beautiful piece of art.
